[ Opening title credits run. The musical score to "Sympathy for the Devil", up tempo, is augmented with the sound of sleigh bells. The Very ImPortant New Years Show is four hours long, runs over midnight, and has a variety of imPort guests. It's the liveliest place to be this New Year's Eve, assuming you don't have an actual genuine party to attend, and let's face it who really wants to stand outside on a frozen December night and watch the fireworks when there's plenty of unique, quality entertainment to be had on your telly sets?

The title card disperses in a wave of silver wings, as is typical of ImPortant!'s regular titlecard sequence, and the lights come up overlooking a wide space. There's a stage, with musical instruments set up on it; an enormous, old fashioned LED board for counting up donations over the course of the evening off toward the back of the stage, with a dozen telephone operators sat in front of it; down below, a cluster of tables are set up, pooled mostly to the left of the screen, but also circling around the feet of the stage; a wide set of steps descend into them, allowing people to come and go with ease. Finally, a traditional set of audience seating is arrayed closest to the camera, so that the audience - left in the dark - are by no means the focus of the approach.

As the show opens, Lucifer is the only one on the stage, and the camera descends almost all the way down to him before switching to a more intimate view. He's wearing a scarlet three piece suit, with a black shirt, a red tie, clearly playing up the devil look for the camera, and his arms open wide as though to embrace the audience, before drawing his hands in, together in the center, as though in prayer. He speaks:
]

Hello friends - ladies and gentlemen, sinners and saints - and welcome to the best and only place to be this New Year's Eve, the Very ImPortant New Year's Show. I need no introduction, of course, but allow me to introduce to the stage my co-host, Winger Man's very own Jeff Winger. [ It's quite the concession that he uses the shortened version of Jeff's name. Don't expect it to last. Jeff is stunningly handsome in his pinstripe suit.

A little bit of banter ensues, staged, about how excited they both are for what's coming up tonight. Both are energetic and charming, bouncing the schmooze off each other easily. Not bad considering Jeff is freshly back from his sticky fate days before. Lucifer introduces SINS, the Society for Institutional Safety, the charity that the telethon is supporting and introduces the panel, and Jeff provides the paid number for donations. Callers are encouraged to mention if they have a preference for which imPort they speak to on the panel, so that they can be put through to the one they want. (note: any character can be on the panel, even if they're doing other things during the course of the show! And anyone can call in! They don't have to be at the show to be a part of it!)

Between skits and appeals from the likes of Carl Grimes, and visits back to the telethon to check up on donations and speak to volunteers, Jeff introduces the acts who are going to be performing during the course of the show, and fan favorites who have agreed to appear during the course of the evening. The show is delighted to be hosting both Marceline and the Scream Queens and Dorian Gray and the Hedonists during the course of the evening, and with set lists after midnight. Again, a paid number is provided that allows callers to suggest questions to be asked to the guests during the course of the evening. (note: any character can be a guest, as invitations were sent out earlier this month! Anyone can also call in and suggest questions to be asked!) Presenters will be going around the guests asking them these questions and others, and also embarrassing them by exposing their new year resolutions to the public on live TV.

Free booze and bar style nibbles like olives, chicken wings and nachos will be available to all guests, allowing them to get as trashed during the course of the evening as they feel is necessary. At midnight the Morning Star Church Choir will be guiding everyone in the chorus of Auld Lang Syne, before the bands are asked to return to the stage to alternate songs. After midnight, a previously announced Kiss Cam will randomly fixate itself upon two guests sitting at the tables, with the expectation that they kiss to mark the new year. (note: please feel free to assume that the Kiss Cam landed on your character!)

By 1am, everyone will be far too drunk to properly say goodnight, but Lucifer will remark on the amount of money raised for the charity and thank everyone just in time before the credits finish rolling. Well...assuming he doesn't get chased off stage by Musketeers in the meantime.

OOC: More details, questions and sign ups are here, but at this point that's only a formality. Much better to throw things at the wall and see if they stick. Please please please feel free to throw your characters at this as if they're just attending a party, since that's all it is. They don't have to be involved with Lucifer, Jeff, or any of the televised elements at all, if you don't fancy it. It's a party! Come, get utterly trashed on free booze, dance a little and spread asome New Year's cheer!

P.S. Since it IS live TV, anything can happen, and this is absolutely encouraged. Feel free to have the cameras picking up on anything your characters are getting up to, whether it's embarrassing, spontaneously violent or adorable, you know the public wants to see it.
