Hullo MoMers! This is Reg and Knight bringing you a Supernatural related plot courtesy of Lucifer's scheming and meddling. I know what you're thinking: 'Not that douchebag Lucifer again!' but this is something a little different. Now, the plot's going to posted in two sections, with a more elaborate write up of the details/plotting post for everyone to get involved in closer to the date (June), but right now this is the volunteer!get part of the planning stage. Three volunteers, specifically, for three rings one ring to find them all... Ahem.

The story so far

Now back when Lucifer was going full Apocalypse on the world of Supernatural, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse; Famine, Death, Pestilence and War, raised merry Hell on Earth. The source of their power was four lantern rings; four rings imbued with the power of the Horsemen, which were in fact the key to Lucifer's Cage and had to be collected in order to lock him away. Dean brought them with him from his draw point. Now, there's no helpful pocket universes, no angels and no God in MoMverse, as far as Lucifer knows, which means he's not afraid of getting locked down, but he is an enormous menace to society, and at the end of last month when Dean got ported out for his power update, Lucifer snatched the four rings with the intent of distributing them and causing a little chaos.

So that means there's three out of those four rings up for grabs, bearing in mind that Death's is too powerful, and Lucifer will be holding on to it himself to encourage a showdown. They don't have to only be distributed to characters with evil leanings: Lucifer is a douchebag who would happily put the power ring into the hand of an unsuspecting person, who then goes about accidentally spreading harm; anyone is fair game.

The Four Horsemen

Here are the details of the rings and their powers, and what scope is allowed within the plot structure:

War: This ring empowers the wearer to spread civil discord, obviously. In canon, it's used to separate a town into two opposing sides, both sides thinking that the other is possessed by demons, while War himself slips in and encourages them to kill each other as horribly as possible. War escalates feelings of paranoia and aggression, and those exposed to it either accidentally or intentionally may see enemies either from their own canon, the ringbearer's canon, or Supernatural's demons vs. demons scenario, depending on which character Lucifer gives this ring to and how the player wants to explore their options. I can see this ring ideally closing out in some sort of battle log.

Famine: This ring isn't all about making people hungry, in fact, famine is all about trying to fill that empty hole in your life, no matter what it is. And as they say, too much of a good thing can kill you. Eventually. Fortunately so long as the thing you're holding back from isn't jumping off bridges without a parachute, the ring won't be in effect long enough in MoM to kill. Instead exposure to the ring will spread the need for your character to fulfill him/herself in ways that they've been stubbornly abstaining from. That can mean people giving up their strict diets and binging on fast food, or it can be two abstaining partners suddenly throwing themselves into a 48 hour sexathon, a reformed evildoer doing evil, or a blood-free vampire losing control of his faculties. Basically if your character is holding back? Consider those flood gates open. This ring just needs a bearer, since it doesn't draw from the canon of the character carrying it at all; nor is the carrier of the famine ring necessarily removed from its effects, unlike the other two.

Pestilence: This ring needs the perfect ringbearer. While pestilence in canon is a ring used to instantly spread crippling disease to those nearby, in MoM the hope is that it will spread a different kind of virus. (Read: Zombie plague viruses already happened, let's mix things up a bit). Instead, pestilence will draw on one of your character's traits or powers, and turn it into a virus, which can be spread by proximity or by exposure to others with the virus. It'll have a short (three day) window of effectivity, so the effects won't be permanent, but obviously its effects all depend on whose character is carrying the ring. For instance: a character who can tell when people is lying creates a viral strain of Truth, a character who is secretly a robot accidentally causes a night of the living doll disease to rapidly spread in the imPort population, a character with the power of ice creates a virus that makes everyone very cold unless they cuddle. There's a lot of power to be inventive with this ring and make something fun for as many people as possible to get involved with.

Death: Death's ring can make people invisible, and grant them the ability to kill with a touch. This ring will not be available, but Lucifer will have it. He may give it up willingly, or someone might have to kick his ass, but either way no Death powers for the Devil.

Final Details

This plot allows for a small number of NPCs to be killed (Max 30); and the likelihood is that War is responsible for most of these deaths. Player character deaths and massive acts of destruction will have to be cleared past the mods as usual.

Ringbearers will also need to be ready to discuss how the plot will proceed via Plurk/instant message/AIM to iron out the details, and will need to prepare a subplot section to go into the final plotting post, as effectively - as ringbearers - they will be the master of developing their part of the plot. Lucifer won't be doing much more than putting the rings in their possession, before sitting back to watch the fireworks.

It's important to note that volunteers won't be judged on a first come first served basis, but selected based on what they can bring to the plot, i.e. a truth virus would be more inclusive than an x-ray vision virus.

One final note: As Dean believes that these rings are the only way to stop Lucifer in his own timeline, he won't risk returning to his present without them, so his efforts will be leant toward recovering the rings as a conclusion to the plot, either by heroic efforts or just by asking for them. He may be chased up and cajoled about ensuring that in the future dangerous artefacts aren't left in places where the Lord of all Evil Things and Sarcasm can get them.

tl;dr:
-4 horsemen plot in first week of June
-need volunteer ringbearers: innocents or evildoers welcome

Knowing/Unknowing: No, but he'd be hella cautious.
Ideas: Well, in his canon he is basically become Death, destroyer of Baltimore, and you appear to have canon knowledge, so I'm going to be lazy here. I'm sorry for spamming you, but Luci and your game plots are irresistible.
